Putting the green in home building...and your pocket.
You've decided to build a new home. Congratulations! We can help you make the most of your investment with a HERS labeled or ENERGY STAR® certified home built to save energy and money. Builders who have achieved the HERS label or ENERGY STAR® rating have been trained to build you a safer, more comfortable home that's built to last.
Plus, when you build an Energy-Saving home, you receive the additional benefit of knowing you are helping the environment because these homes use less energy, which reduces the environmental impact associated with electric generation. LG&E and KU have received the nationally recognized ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year Award for the second consecutive year for the successes of the Energy-Saving New Homes Program.Following closely on the heels of the award, a second honor came in the form of a congratulatory letter from Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear when he recognized the utilities as a leader in energy efficiency in the commonwealth. In the letter, Governor Beshear said, "Your dedication to promoting energy efficiency and conservation to both residents and the building industry proves your commitment to social and environmental responsibility. Because of your efforts, Kentuckians across the state will reap the benefits of energy efficiency and lighten our load on the electrical grid and our impact on the environment." LG&E and KU were two of 19 entities nationwide named an ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year "for energy efficiency program delivery."
