Kelly Couch, Rates and Regulatory Analyst III

If you're looking for a company that understands the importance of a balanced work and family life, gives you an opportunity to demonstrate your skill sets and has a good salary and benefits package, this is the place for you.

Kelly Couch has been with the company since 2009, first as an Energy Efficiency Education program manager, then as a Rates and Regulatory Analyst III. Before joining the company, Kelly worked for an educational consortium of 14 school districts in North Central Kentucky, where she provided professional development for teachers and designed education programs. Here's what Kelly has to say about her career at the company.

What has been your most memorable day since working at the company?

It has to be my participation in the 4th Grade Energy Day Camp, where I provided energy efficiency lessons for students. The event was so memorable and rewarding because not only are these children future LG&E and KU customers, but they also can have a significant influence on the current energy consumption behaviors of their parents and family members.

What would you say to potential applicants to the company?

I was nervous about making the transition to a corporate environment, as my past career path was in the private, non-profit sector. That fear, however, was quickly taken away. If you're looking for a company that understands the importance of a balanced work and family life, gives you an opportunity to demonstrate your skill sets and has a good salary and benefits package, this is the place for you. I'm very, very pleased with my transition to the team.
