Gloria Miller, Electrical Engineer in Simpsonville, has been working with the company since March 2009. Originally brought on as a contractor, her primary responsibility was building a map used to detect outages at the Transmission Control Center. In her current position, she is responsible for developing a tracking procedure for regulatory guidelines.
Why did you apply here?
I applied to work at the company full-time because, as a contractor, I already enjoyed the company's culture and knew all the opportunities it offers for the developing engineer.
What do you like about working here?
I enjoy the variety of challenges and projects that are available for engineers.
Has the company assisted you with tuition or other support for your education and/or career development?
Yes. I am currently taking a graduate course at the University of Louisville to obtain my Master's degree in Engineering. I also attended a conference and took a course that described in detail, but in everyday language, the key pieces and functions of the electric utility system.
