"I work in the Energy Marketing Accounting department and my main job is to complete settlement and resettlement statements to reconcile our numbers with MISO's numbers. I also do balance sheet reconciliations once a month, as well as MAN financials daily to prepare either disbursements to be sent to accounts payable or credit slips."

"This experience has shown me how accounting comes into play in the 'real world,' so to speak, instead of just the textbook knowledge I have learned. I am learning skills applicable to all accounting jobs, including balance-sheet reconciliations. I am also gaining insight into the accounting environment, how to handle situations in a professional manner, the feel of a typical workday, etc."
