Access to Your Meter(s)
We will need to have access to your meter to obtain a final reading before we can cancel your service. Please ensure our meter reader has access so that we can complete your request to cancel your service.
Help us obtain a final reading by:
- Making sure our meter reader has clear and unobstructed access to your meter;
- Clearing away brush and debris that may block the meter or prevent our meter reader from seeing the dials;
- Providing a key if your meter is located inside your home or business;
- Securing your pets so that our meter reader can safely read your meter.

We will need to have access to your meter(s) to obtain a final reading at your current address (if you are currently an LG&E, KU or ODP customer) and at your new address before we can complete your request to transfer your service.
Please ensure our meter reader has access to your meter(s) so that we can complete your request to transfer your service.
Help us obtain a final reading by:
- Making sure our meter reader has clear and unobstructed access to your meter;
- Clearing away brush and debris that may block the meter or prevent our meter reader from seeing the dials;
- Providing a key if your meter is located inside your home or business;

When a deposit is required, the amount varies depending on the type of service (electricity or natural gas) you receive and your rate type (Residential, General Service Business or Non-Residential).

Below are the fees associated with requests for temporary service:
| LG&E Customers | $72.85 |
| KU Customers | $35 for 100 amp service; $50 for service greater than 100 amps |
| ODP Customers | $25 Removal fee |
Fees may be higher if the temporary service requires a transformer.
