Warm a Loved One's Heart and Home with a HUG from LG&E and KU
Utility gift certificates make great Valentine's Day presents for individuals, non-profit organizations

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — There's still time to show your love for a family member, friend or non-profit organization this Valentine's Day with a home utility gift certificate (HUG) from Louisville Gas and Electric Company and Kentucky Utilities Company.
Although it's no substitute for a romantic candlelight dinner, a HUG is a practical gift certificate alternative that credits the utility account of any LG&E or KU customer. Instead of working like a traditional gift certificate, which can get lost or become obsolete if an establishment goes out of business, a HUG is a credit placed directly on a customer's account.
The credit is automatically subtracted from the customer's next bill. The purchaser receives a gift certificate to present to the recipient indicating the amount of the purchase.
HUGs are especially ideal for families in need, senior citizens, and young people just starting out on their own. Many customers also have purchased HUGs for non-profit and social service organizations to help them manage routine expenses throughout the year.
The certificates are available during normal business hours at all customer service walk-in centers. LG&E customers should visit the walk-in center located at 820 W. Broadway. In order to credit the proper LG&E or KU account, customers should be prepared to provide the address of the HUG recipient.
Louisville Gas and Electric Company and Kentucky Utilities Company, part of the PPL Corporation (NYSE: PPL) family of companies, are regulated utilities that serve a total of 1.2 million customers and have consistently ranked among the best companies for customer service in the United States. LG&E serves 321,000 natural gas and 397,000 electric customers in Louisville and 16 surrounding counties. Kentucky Utilities serves 546,000 customers in 77 Kentucky counties and five counties in Virginia. More information is available at www.lge-ku.com and www.pplweb.com.
