What is an acceptable proof of payment?
Acceptable proof of payment includes either a copy of the check or a computer screenshot showing payment information if you have used an automatic payment system. If more than one type of equipment is being purchased, please clearly label the corresponding items on the invoices and the manufacturer specification sheets.
Am I eligible for this program?
Commercial rebates are available to all LG&E and KU commercial electric customers who contribute to Demand Side Management as part of their monthly bills. This program is not available to gas-only customers.
New construction projects are not eligible for rebates under this program.
Equipment efficiency requirements are subject to change, as Federal Energy Policy Law changes. Further, rebates are subject to change, based on changes in the marketplace. LG&E and KU will post all changes at lge-ku.com/rebate and also will reflect changes/updates on program materials. Applications deemed eligible prior to the date the rebates changed will be eligible for the rebate amount in effect at the time the application was submitted and processed. Rebates will never exceed the cost of the equipment being installed.
What types of improvements are eligible for commercial rebates?
Commercial rebates are available for various individual high-efficiency improvements, as well as customized improvements that attribute to overall energy savings. Customers' energy-saving measures will be first taken into consideration by individual item, followed then by the customized improvements. Custom projects must include improvements that help reduce peak energy load, which will be measured in kilowatts. Rebates greater than $600 will be reported to the IRS unless documentation of tax exempt status is provided.

What types of improvements are not eligible for commercial rebates?
What happens after I've submitted my application?
Customers will receive a confirmation form once all the necessary supporting documents have been submitted and the application has been approved. Customers must complete and return the confirmation form with itemized
invoice(s) and proof of payment for each piece of equipment in order for LG&E and KU to process the rebates.
Invoices for lighting rebates must show the itemized fixtures, ballasts and lamps when applicable. Customers will receive rebate checks by mail.
What happens if I accidentally submit an incomplete application packet?
The Commercial Rebate Program partners with MaGrann Associates to process commercial rebates. Your application packet will be reviewed for completeness and accuracy. You may be contacted by a MaGrann Associates representative if we have questions or need additional information while processing your rebate. Site verification may be required to process your rebate application.
What is site verification?
During site verification, a MaGrann Associates representative will confirm quantities, make and model numbers of each equipment type listed on the Installation Confirmation form(s).
If your facility is selected for site verification, you will be contacted by MaGrann Associates to schedule an on-site visit to your facility. Someone from your facility will need to accompany our business partner during the site verification. Rebates will remain in a pending status until site verification is complete.
How do I determine my energy savings for customized rebates?
Custom projects must include improvements that help reduce peak energy load, which will be measured in kilowatts. Customized rebates will be based on the first-year on-peak kilowatt savings. Applications for customized rebates must be accompanied by all engineering calculations that document this energy savings, in addition to your complete application packet. Details on the application packet can be found on the front page of this instruction sheet.
What else do I need to know?
Customers are not required to participate in the LG&E and KU Commercial Energy Analysis to apply for commercial rebates. Customers may select an appropriate vendor of their choosing to supply and/or install the improvements that qualify for commercial rebates. Customers may choose to self-install the equipment.
Labor costs accrued while installing the improvements are not eligible for rebates. Rebate amounts cannot under any circumstance exceed the cost of the equipment or the total customized project costs.

How do I apply for customized rebates only?
If you plan to apply for customized rebates only, you may include improvements made after November 9, 2011 that help reduce peak energy load, which will be measured in kilowatts. Please complete your enrollment page and your custom rebate application, and provide the necessary supporting documents required to complete your application packet.
