Geothermal Heating & Cooling

thermometerA geothermal heating and cooling system works much like a regular heat pump, except it uses the earth's nearly constant underground temperatures as its source of heat to warm the home in winter. In summer, it reverses to take unwanted heat from the house. It is comfortable and quiet, and needs little maintenance.

In the KU territory, geothermal has the lowest operating cost of any heating and cooling system. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency views geothermal heating and cooling systems as best for the environment.
